Workshop: HMM-Based Speech Synthesis

This workshop was held on Saturday, 14th May 2016. The workshop was instructed by Dr. Mumtaz Mustafa from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, University of Malaya.

It was one day, very technical and intensive program. Participants were given hands-on experience on how to build a working text-to-speech Graphical User Interface. The main toolkit used was Festival TTS System Environment.

I always enjoyed this type of workshop as it gives me an instant knowledge and the best thing is you get to ask the instructor questions. Furthermore, you get to meet people with the same interests.

Currently, I’m doing research on Automatic Speech Recognition, Text-to-Speech and its derivatives. If you would like to know more about this workshop or anything related, please contact me.
